Image of God

When you look into the mirror in the morning

Tell me what you see

Flaws and imperfections

What you're not but want to be

Do you think about your friends

Think about your family

Are you caught up in comparisons

And endless measuring

I have felt the same way too

There are even days that i still do

And i'm here to tell you that

I've found the simple truth

I am a reflection

Of the one who loves me most

Created in his image, on purpose

I'm supposed to be me

And no one else could ever

No one else could ever take my place

After all, i was made in the image of god

In the image of god

Jesus came to earth

That we might have a clearer view

Of god the father who had been

Invisible to me and you

If we could only see us through his eyes

Then i'm sure we'd come to realize

That his very hands are gently holding all our lives
