Too Proud

I had to have, I had to hold

I had to be so strong and stand alone

I had to know, I had to name

I had to play so hard to win the game

But just like water can turn into wine

I’m not too proud to change my mind

So I gave up taking chances

I gave up pushing rivers

Steered clear of the rapids

I never lost control

I tried to stop the thunder

Didn’t want to hear the thunder

Clapped my hands on my ears

So I wouldn’t have to hear
